Welcome

The English program houses two majors – English and Writing. In small classes, majors in both disciplines investigate the complex and often contradictory traditions that inform contemporary literary study. Students will develop reading, writing and analytical skills in a cohesive course of study that provides them with an opportunity to produce a final capstone project in either literary analysis, or in fiction, nonfiction or poetry. With their degrees, Carroll’s English and Writing majors have pursued a wide variety of careers, from law school to the health sciences.
