Dual Degree Program: BS in Computer Science and Master of Software Engineering
This program allows students to gain a solid computer science background and advanced professional software development skills on an accelerated pace and be ready for the challenges of the information technology industry upon graduation. The program allows students to be able to still finish a Bachelor of Science degree in four years or fewer should they choose not to continue with the five-year program.
Students majoring in Computer Science must take the core requirements and the additional defined Dual-Degree requirements to be eligible for this five-year program. Students may be admitted to the five-year BS-MSE dual degree program as freshmen. However, a combination of a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the major and an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher is required to remain in the five-year program. Alternatively, a student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the major and overall GPA of 2.75 or higher may be admitted to the five-year degree program any time before 80 undergraduate credit hours are completed. The latest that a student can apply for admission is during the second semester of his or her junior year.
