Health Care Administration Program

Carroll University's Health Care Administration major will prepare students to lead and manage in the contemporary health care market. The HCA program will prepare graduates for entry-level positions in the health care industry. Graduates will have an understanding of the health care delivery system, the factors that influence the health care system, the knowledge to apply health care management concepts, and the skills and abilities that are necessary to be successful in health care management and leadership roles.

Learning Outcomes for Health Care Administration

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of management, leadership, and economic theories and practices as they relate to complex, formal health care organizations
  2. Using problem solving skills, demonstrate an understanding and application of financial and reimbursement strategies needed to resolve financial issues unique to health care organizations
  3. Display an understanding and application of various health care administration practices, including organizational management, marketing, human resources, and information management
  4. Demonstrate an understanding and ability to analyze and interpret legal theories, ethical principles and regulatory structures in health care necessary for organizations and governments to serve health care consumers
  5. Develop and enhance, through practical experiences, the ability to collaborate with others to examine, analyze and make recommendations concerning health care organizational issues
