Art Program at Carroll University

The Art Program offers students the opportunity to major in art at a small university while also traveling the world. The faculty offers courses that include travel to Italy, Mexico and Argentina. New art and design courses are being developed that will take students to Japan, Iceland and India. Students can also elect to spend a semester abroad at such places as Florence University of the Arts or John Cabot University in Rome.

Students majoring in art are prepared for graduate study in both fine art and art therapy. Those students going on in art therapy have often minored in psychology.

Students in Carroll University's art program are fortunate to be located in a culturally rich major metropolitan area. Art students take advantage of small classes and personalized attention while visiting museums and galleries, and attending lectures in Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago. Carroll-sponsored exhibitions allow both art majors and non-art majors to showcase their best work. Carroll's commitment to the arts is evident in the modern art facility, which features spacious studios, a gallery, student exhibition spaces, an art library and a computer lab.

All art majors are encouraged to attend art exhibition openings and/or workshops and field trips sponsored or approved by the Art Program. All majors are required to create a sophomore portfolio and have a senior show and portfolio to be approved by the art faculty.

Call for Artists!

Carroll University seeks a public artist who is experienced with community collaborations to lead in the creation and installation of a community-based, temporary, public sculpture in summer 2015 on the Carroll campus. See the application page to apply and for more details.
