Carroll University's Art Program offers students the opportunity to major in art at a small university while also traveling the world. The program is part of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA). The VPA faculty offers courses that include travel to Italy, Mexico and Argentina.
Students majoring in art are prepared for a variety of art-related careers and graduate study in both fine art and art therapy.
Students in Carroll University's art program are fortunate to be located in a culturally rich major metropolitan area. Art students take advantage of small classes and personalized attention while visiting museums and galleries, and attending lectures in Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago. Carroll-sponsored exhibitions allow both art majors and non-art majors to showcase their best work. Carroll's commitment to the arts is evident in the modern art facility, which features spacious studios, a gallery, student exhibition spaces, an art library and three MAC computer labs.
Art faculty work closely with students to develop a cohesive body of work for their senior exhibition. In the senior capstone course, students develop an artist statement, resume and a portfolio that is reviewed by all art faculty and an alumnus working in the field.
