WAUKESHA, WIS.— Two art exhibitions will open on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, as part of the Homecoming celebrations at Carroll University. One features two young alumni who recently earned Master of Fine Arts degrees, and will close on Nov. 4. The other includes art by full-time, part-time and retired faculty, on display through Nov. 11. A reception will be 10 a.m.-noon on Oct. 8 in Humphrey Art Center, 238 N. East Ave., Waukesha.

Erik Grau, a 2008 Carroll graduate, and Louise Krampien '07 will display recent works in the Rowe Art Gallery. When not in his studio, he is a behavioral specialist in a school for children with autism spectrum disorders. His website is www.erikgrau.com.

Krampien is a Portland, Ore.-based printmaker who works primarily in large-scale woodcuts. She received an MFA in printmaking from Washington State University in 2010 after earning her post-baccalaureate certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston in 2008.
