Carroll receives $40,294 federal grant

WAUKESHA, WIS.— Carroll University has received a $40,294 federal grant to provide financial aid to economically and environmentally disadvantaged students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing or a graduate degree in physical therapy.

Of the total award, $29,920 is earmarked for scholarships for undergraduate nursing students; $10,374 is available for scholarships for graduate students in physical therapy.

The scholarship funds are provided by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). This is the second consecutive year Carroll has received federal funding for this purpose.

Scholarship awards to individual students currently enrolled in the respective
professional programs at Carroll are based on financial need and are focused on defraying the cost of tuition, books and living expenses.

HRSA, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary federal agency for improving access to health care services for people who are uninsured, isolated or medically vulnerable.
