Carroll University bike ride will be April 30

WAUKESHA, WIS.— Carroll University students, staff and faculty will join Carroll President Dr. Douglas N. Hastad and his wife Nancy, and Waukesha Mayor Jeff Scrima for a Ride with the President on Saturday, April 30, 2011. The event is intended to raise awareness of biking as an alternate means of transportation and a way to get healthy exercise.

Riders will take off at 9:30 a.m. from the parking lot of the Carroll University Campus Center, 101 N. East Ave., Waukesha. The route will be: Wright Street to Charles, north on Charles to McCall, east on McCall to Racine, southeast on Racine to Oakland, north on Oakland to Arcadian, west on Arcadian to Hartwell, north on Hartwell to Whiterock, northeast on Whiterock to Baxter, west on Baxter to the Frame Park bike path, southeast on the bike path to Corrina, west on Corrina to Barstow, south on Barstow to Main, west on Main to Gasper, south on Gasper to South, east on South to Barstow, south on Barstow to College. The ride ends at 202 W. College Ave.

One ride participant will win a new Trek bike. The event is sponsored by the Carroll University Student Senate and the Carroll Department of Public Safety.
