Seminar on public health issue will be Nov. 4

WAUKESHA, WIS.— Dr. Amy Harley, a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's College of Health Sciences and the Center of Urban Population Health, will present “Social Context and Physical Activity among Urban African American Women" at Carroll University on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009. The event will be noon-1 p.m. in Room 101 of Main Hall on the Carroll campus. It is free and open to the public.

There also will be presentations by UWM and Carroll faculty on the undergraduate public health program at Carroll, and the master's degree and Ph.D. programs in public health at UWM.

The Nov. 4 seminar is one of a series of six offered this fall as part of UWM's public heath outreach efforts. Carroll and UWM faculty members have been working to establish a collaboration between the master's and doctorate programs in UWM’s new School of Public Health and Carroll University’s new bachelor of science in public health major.
