WAUKESHA, WIS.— John W. Jenkins, a second-year student in Carroll University’s physician assistant program, has been awarded the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) Veterans Caucus Scholarship.
The Veterans Caucus represents physician assistants or those studying to become physician assistants who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Each year, the caucus offers a variety of scholarships to recognize the achievements of military veterans enrolled in a physician assistant program.
Jenkins, a Brookfield, Wis., resident, was recognized at the AAPA national conference in Washington, D.C., in May. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and used a portion of the scholarship money to help offset the cost for three other Carroll PA students to attend the conference.
