Carroll students win grants for national conference

April 5, 2013

WAUKESHA, WIS.— Three Carroll University students have won grants from a local American Chemical Society chapter to attend the ACS national meeting in New Orleans, at which all three will give presentations. The students are:

  • Elizabeth Ebensperger, a senior from Balsam Lake, Wis.
  • Katelan Hall, a senior from Cherry Valley, Ill.
  • Jamie Platz, a senior from Franklin, Wis.

At the April 7-11, 2013, meeting, the students will present their capstone work; present the Carroll Chapter poster at a professional poster session; attend talks about the latest developments in chemistry and biochemistry; view the latest instrumentation, techniques and supplies; and meet with graduate school representatives, and government and industrial recruiters. More than 10,000 students and professionals are expected to attend the meeting.

The students won the grants based on a competition that includes essays and biographical sketches. In addition, Ebensperger also won a grant from the national ACS.
