Carroll dancers raise funds for breast cancer research
March 19, 2013
WAUKESHA, WIS.— Carroll University’s Blaze dance team hosted Spirit of Hope 2013, a collegiate dance team exhibition, on Feb. 24. The family-friendly event raised $814 to benefit the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse for breast and prostate cancer research.
Last year’s event raised $740, and the goal for 2013 was simply to top that success. Blaze coach Julie Rapps organized the event. She said, “I receive the intangible rewards of enthusiastically positive feedback from dancers, coaches and spectators, too. I consider it a success!”
Participating dance teams included the UW-Milwaukee Panthers, University of Illinois-Chicago Dancing Flames, North Central College Cardettes, Benedictine College Lady Ravens, Wisconsin Lutheran College Power Surge, the Concordia University Wisconsin Dance Team and Carroll University Blaze.
