WAUKESHA, WIS.— Carroll University will show the 2013 film “Girl Rising” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in the Stackner Ballroom of the Campus Center, 101 N. East Ave., Waukesha.
The event is free and open to the public.
A groundbreaking film, “Girl Rising” was directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins and tells the stories of nine extraordinary girls from nine countries. Their stories are written by nine celebrated writers and narrated by nine renowned actresses, including Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Salma Hayek and Meryl Streep.
“Girl Rising” showcases the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world. The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Carroll faculty and graduates.
This event is sponsored by the Carroll University library, the Carroll University College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Social Justice League, a student organization at Carroll.
