WAUKESHA, WIS.— Paula Foley Tillen is a 1980 graduate of Carroll University, an internationally published composer, a founding member of Milwaukee Choral Artists and an adjunct music faculty member at Pius XI High School. On Saturday, March 2, 2013, an entire concert of Tillen’s work will begin at 7 p.m. in the Wendy Joy Lindsey Theater of the Father Robert V. Carney Performing Arts Center, 135 N. 76th St., Milwaukee.
Tillen’s compositions and arrangements have been performed by choral groups throughout the United States and Canada, and are found in the catalogs of Alliance Music Publishing, Hal Leonard Publishing, Santa Barbara Music Press and Treble Clef Music Press. In this memorable performance, the Milwaukee Choral Artists and Pius XI High School choirs will look back on some of their favorite works from the past 15 years, and honor Tillen by performing a retrospective of her compositions. The concert will feature a world premiere of “Song of the Water,” based on Psalm 42.
General admission tickets are $15 adults, $10 seniors and $8 students. Call the box office at 414.290.0204 or visit www.piuspac.org. Proceeds will support a scholarship fund for Pius XI vocal arts students.
