WAUKESHA, WIS.— Jaimie Cloud, founder and president of the Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education in New York City, will speak at Carroll University on Monday, March 4, 2013. She will present “Education for Sustainability” at 7 p.m. in the Stackner Ballroom of the Carroll University Campus Center, 101 N. East Ave., Waukesha.
The event is free and open to the public.
A pioneer in the field of Education for Sustainability, Cloud writes and publishes extensively, and consults, coaches and teaches in schools around the country and internationally.
Cloud’s lecture marks the inauguration of a new Sociology of Sustainability program in Carroll’s sociology major. Developed by Dr. Richard Coon, associate professor of sociology, and William Tarman-Ramcheck, adjunct lecturer of sociology. In addition to classroom work, students collaborate with community organizations to learn how to live more sustainable lifestyles and to lead sustainable social systems.
