Carroll University Jazz Ensemble performs

October 26, 2012

WAUKESHA, WIS.— The Carroll University Jazz Ensemble will perform “old school” jazz on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in Shattuck Music Center, 218 N. East Ave., Waukesha. This event is free and open to the public.

The performance will feature music from Count Basie and Duke Ellington, among others, and will be led by new director Pete Lange, who is completing his bachelor’s degree in Music Education at Carroll. He draws upon the expert counsel and assistance of Rob Engl, as the Carroll Music Department confirms its commitment to creating a truly authentic Jazz performance culture.

Lange has taught instrumental and vocal music at Catholic Memorial High School since 2009. He leads Concert Band, Jazz Band, Chorale and Show Choir, and teaches Introduction to Business. Lange also has experience as an actor, singer, and trumpeter, and he performs regularly. He served as vocal director for Catholic Memorial’s productions of “White Christmas,” “Guys and Dolls,” “State Fair,” and Waukesha Civic Theatre’s production of “Once on This Island,” in which he also played Agwe, god of water.
