WAUKESHA, WIS.— Carroll University will host a charity wheelchair basketball game featuring the Wisconsin Thunder on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. in Van Male Field House, 227 Barstow St., Waukesha. Tickets are $2 at the door and $1 with a donation item. There will be concessions available as well as raffle and auction items.
The Wisconsin Thunder wheelchair basketball team will compete against Carroll University faculty and staff to raise money for a health and wellness class traveling to Guatemala in December. The class of 16 students and two faculty members will serve with the Hearts in Motion Ministry to feed malnourished children and families as well as provide wellness education and donations of much-needed supplies. The group also plans to lead a sports camp for the local children during the service trip.
Preferred donation items include new toothbrushes, blankets, gently used shoes and clothing, and new or used sporting goods such as soccer, basketball, tennis and baseball related items.
