Senator Ron Johnson will speak at Carroll

October 22, 2012

WAUKESHA, WIS.— On Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, Senator Ron Johnson will include Carroll University as one of several Wisconsin venues for his lecture on the state of the American economy. This presentation will begin at 8 a.m. in the auditorium of Shattuck Music Center, 218 N. East Ave., Waukesha. It is free and open to the public.

"The Realities of America's Economy" will use facts and figures from the Office of Management and Budget and the Congressional Budget Office to address the size, scope and cost of the federal government. The senator’s goal is to educate and inform all citizens. A question and answer session will follow his presentation.

Johnson has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota. He was working toward a Master of Business Administration degree when he had the opportunity to start a plastics manufacturing business, PACUR, with his brother-in-law. Johnson was involved in every function of the business for 31 years. He brings this private sector perspective to the U.S. Senate, serving on the committees on appropriations, budget, homeland security and governmental affairs, and aging. He resides in Oshkosh with his wife Jane. They have three children.

This event is sponsored by Carroll’s Department of Business, Accounting and Economics. For more information, contact RayAnn Parish, administrative assistant, at 262.951.3019 or
