Pio Pete challenges community
September 18, 2012
WAUKESHA, WIS.— Pio Pete, the official mascot of Carroll University athletics, presents a challenge to show school spirit during Homecoming season. Carroll students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members are eligible to participate and win.
To participate, individuals purchase a football and decorate it for a chance to win Pio Pete’s Prize Package. Completed footballs must be delivered to the Office of Student Affairs in Kilgour Hall, 119 E. College Ave., by noon on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012. Include a name, phone number and email with the football.
Judges include Dr. Theresa Barry, dean of students; Jim Wiseman ’82, vice president of enrollment; Heidi Miller ’91, assistant director of alumni relations; Mark Krzykowski ’94, head football coach; and Pio Pete.
The winner will be announced on Saturday, Sept. 29, when the clock at Schneider Stadium reaches 18:46 before the Homecoming game against Lake Forest College (3 p.m. kickoff). This time is in recognition of the year Carroll University was founded, in 1846. The winner does not need to be present to win, but will have the opportunity to take photos with Pio Pete.
The prize package includes 1,846 free pages of black and white printing during the 2013-14 academic year, a $20.12 gift card (in honor of Homecoming 2012) to the Carroll University Bookstore or Pioneer Shop, and $20 gift cards to Au Bon Pain, Second Cup and Red Mango restaurants.
All footballs will be donated to programs serving children in the Waukesha community.
