Carroll University announces September and October arts events

WAUKESHA, WIS.— Carroll University announces its arts events for September and October 2012. All events are free, unless otherwise indicated. Tickets can be purchased through the Carroll University Box Office, 262.524.7633. For a complete listing of all 2012-2013 arts events, visit

Sept. 12-Oct. 7 “Drawn from Life: Three Art Alumni” featuring Andy Fletcher ’00, paintings, Frank Juarez ’97, paintings, and David Powell ’68, sculpture, Main Hall; Reception: Saturday, Sept. 29, 10-11 a.m.

Sept. 13 Concert Reading: “Copenhagen” by Michael Frayn, featuring James Pickering, resident actor of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, 4:30 p.m., Otteson Theatre.

Sept. 15 Guest Recital by Gaudete Brass, 7:30 p.m., Shattuck Music Center.

Sept. 22-Oct. 19 Carroll Art Alumni Group Exhibition, mixed media, Marceil Pultorak Atrium Gallery; Reception: Saturday, Sept. 29, 11 a.m.-noon. Gallery closed Oct. 13-16.

Sept. 27 Concert Reading: “True West” by Sam Shepard, 7 p.m., Otteson Theatre.

Sept. 30 Wisconsin Wind Orchestra, 4 p.m., Humphrey Memorial Chapel; $10 adults, $5 students/seniors 60 and older.

Oct. 7 Faculty Lecture and Organ Recital by Leon W. Couch III, 4 p.m., Shattuck Music Center.

Oct. 18-Nov. 20 “Book Passages: A Visual Journey” by William Zuback, archival ink jet photographs, Main Hall; Reception: Thursday, Oct. 18, 5-7 p.m.

Oct. 19-20 Student Production: “The Shape of Things” by Neil LaBute, 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday, Otteson Theatre.

Oct. 26 Concert Choir, Vocal Collective and Women’s Ensemble, 8 p.m., Shattuck Music Center; $8 adults, $3 students/seniors 60 and older.
