WAUKESHA, WIS.— “Elegant Volume,” an exhibition of ceramic sculptures by Brock Rumohr, will be on display at the Oconomowoc Arts Center, 641 E. Forest St., Oconomowoc, from Sept. 8 to Oct. 20, 2012. A reception will be Saturday, Sept. 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the OAC lobby. Gallery visits are free and open to the public.
A Greendale native, Rumohr graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with an art education degree, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in studio ceramics at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He teaches ceramics and sculpture at Kettle Moraine High School and is an adjunct faculty member in the ceramics department at Carroll University. Rumohr’s current work in clay showcases a return to elegant pottery forms in porcelain and stoneware. He also is a commissioned artist working in clay, bronze, wood and steel, and specializes in designing community collaborative art events.
