WAUKESHA, WIS.— A new exhibit at Galleria Edge, 463 W. Main St., Waukesha, features a photography series by Kate Loehrer, a 2011 graduate of Carroll University. “Under Attack” will be on display through Saturday, July 28, 2012, and is about a day when we’re confronted with our consumption. Each photograph includes a model interacting with materials in multiples. There is a surrealist feel to her photographs as well as environmental undertones.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in photography, Loehrer relocated to Nashville, Tenn., where she works at a small aerial and architectural photography company and continues to work on her own art.
Galleria Edge is owned by George Wang ’92, and is a showcase of local fine artists and art on the edge. Home of Waukesha Tattoo Company, it also is a showcase for the art of tattooing and tattoo artists. Hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 262.349.9013 or visit www.galleriaedge.com.
