WAUKESHA, WIS.— Carroll University and the Plowshare Center will present a forum, Human Face of the Future: Imagining a Just Society, on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the forum will be 9 a.m.-noon in the Stackner Ballroom of the Campus Center, 101 N. East Ave., Waukesha.
The forum will feature:
- Retired Justice Janine Geske: “Restorative Justice: Remembering We Are All Part of the Same Human Family.”
- Betty Groenewold: “Imagine: Life-Sustaining, Affordable Housing for All.”
- John Whitcomb, M.D.: “How to Reform Health Care So Everyone is Motivated to Be Well and Stay Well: Aligning Incentives.”
A pre-forum film will be shown at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, also in the Stackner Ballroom. The screening of “Crossing the Line: Defending Wisconsin's Environmental Commons” is a documentary produced by Midwest Environmental Advocates that features five stories from across Wisconsin of individuals or groups who stood up for their rights to a clean and healthy environment – and won.
Both events are free and open to the public. A suggested donation is $5.
