Students, faculty and staff will spend the night dancing, playing games and enjoying entertainment to celebrate the funds raised for Children’s Hospital and to dance for those who can’t. The community can get involved by making a contribution at http://www.helpmakemiracles.org/event/carrollu/.
Dance Marathon is a national fundraiser that was started at Indiana University in 1991, in memory of Ryan White, a former Indiana resident and national spokesperson for HIV/AIDS awareness. The first Dance Marathon raised money for the Riley Hospital for Children, where White received care until his death in April 1990. Today, Dance Marathons are held at more than 150 high schools and colleges to benefit more than 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Participants learn leadership and life skills while raising funds and interacting with patients and families. To learn more, visit http://dancemarathon.childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org
Carroll’s Dance Marathon is organized by a student organization with the same name, to raise awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and provide opportunities to make a difference. The students of Dance Marathon are prepared to become future corporate, civic and philanthropic leaders. For more information, contact Michelle Schulte at email@example.com.
