"Minchin's" is a dark and modern adaptation of the 1905 short story, "A Little Princess," by Frances Hodgson Burnett, in which Sara Crewe finds herself at the mercy of Miss Minchin, a vindictive boarding school headmistress. It is directed by Jenn Dobby, lecturer in theatre arts. Himmler developed "Minchin's" as part of her senior capstone project, including three years of drafts and revisions to the text.
Himmler is a double major in graphic communication-design management and theatre arts, with a minor in fine arts administration. She has held roles as a playwright, actor, director and Arts Administration Fellow in Otteson Theatre. Last August, her play "Out the Window" was performed as part of 20% Theatre Company Chicago's Snapshots Festival.
