Help Carroll Receive $100,000 Grant for Campus Safety

Carroll University has been announced as a finalist in STANLEY Security's "Together For Safer Schools" grant program. Up to $100,000 could be granted to the Department of Public Safety to invest in security products and services such as additional cameras and a wi-fi lock system.   more

Carroll University Art Professors Win Top Awards

Art Professors Amy Cropper and Peggy Thurston Farrell both won top awards at the Milwaukee Area Teachers of Art ­Drawing, Print and Photography Show. Amy Cropper won the Best of Show award for her Untitled #1 mixed media piece, and Peggy Thurston Farrell won an award of Excellence for her mixed media drawing titled Home Again. The show runs from January 18-February 13 in the Bliss Gallery at Carroll University.   more

Olympic Medalist To Speak on Sports & Sexual Violence

Former Olympic champion, civil rights attorney, prolific scholar and speaker, and life-long advocate for access and equality in all areas of athletics, Nancy Hogshead-Makar, is the keynote speaker for Carroll University's Founders' Day event. Her presentation is titled: "Sports and Sexual Violence A Cultural Crossroad." Hogshead-Makar has used sports as a vehicle for social change, and launched a nonprofit organization called Champion Women in 2014 to address critical gender equity issues by sports governing bodies. She earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and is an honors graduate of Duke University. She has testified in Congress numerous times on the topic of gender equity in athletics, written numerous scholarly and lay articles, and has been a frequent guest on national news programs on the topic, including 60 Minutes, Fox News, CNN, ESPN, NPR, MSNBC and network morning news programming.   more
