English professor publishes new article
Dr. Lori Duin Kelly, professor of English at Carroll University, recently published an article in the “Journal of Medical Humanities,” the leading interdisciplinary journal in the field. “Selecting a Somatic Type: The Role of Anorexia in the Rest Cure” is an exploration of 19th century physician Weir Mitchell and his treatment of women suffering from neurasthenia, or nervous exhaustion.

Faculty on display at Delafield Arts Center
An opening reception from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, will begin a six-week photography exhibition at the Delafield Arts Center, 803 Genesee St., Delafield. “Blurring Reality” features work by Philip Krejcarek and Valerie J. Christell. This event is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be displayed through April 1. more
Carroll to host Spirit of Hope dancers
Carroll University’s Blaze dance team will host Spirit of Hope 2012, a dance exhibition, on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012. The event begins at 2 p.m. in Van Male Field House, 227 N. Barstow St., Waukesha; east doors open at 1:40 p.m. Admission is $5 adults and $3 students. All proceeds benefit the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse. more
