Bound Carroll Newspapers Series:
(1854-present) 98 volumes.
Includes bound issues of The Carroll College Student, The Philomathæan Magazine, The Carroll Magazine, The Carroll Echo, The Perspective, and The New Perspective. This series contains bound volumes of the official Carroll student newspapers. The Archives is missing issues between 1857-1874, and 1878-1893, but otherwise it is a complete collection. Student Journals and Notes Series: (1850-1973) 4 boxes.
These are miscellaneous journals and class notes written by Carroll students while at Carroll or recollections of their time at Carroll.

Alternative/Independent Newspapers Series: (1967-2008) 1 box.
These are student published newspapers that are independent and completely separate from the official campus newspaper.

Philomathaen black volume: contains illustrations of what appears to be the school on the first 2 pages. Contains the October 1856- July 1857 issues of the magazine along with a speech delivered to the Philomathæan Society by Cortlandt Van Rensselaer (secretary of the board of education of the Presbyterian church) in July 1857. The speech is at the end of the volume and is entitled Advantages of Colleges: Carroll College, a good gift to a great state. 1
Philomathaen, May Rankin copy (copy with cover falling off): Contains the October 1856-November 1857 issues of the magazine. 1
Philomathaen/Carroll Magazine, dark green copy: Contains October 1856-December 1857 issues of the magazine (note that it switched to the Carroll magazine in November 1857). The back of the volume also contains the first annual catalogue of officers and students of Carroll College for 1855-1856. This includes Board of Trustees list, visiting synodical committee, faculty, students, organization of college, terms of admission, course of study, expenses, terms and vacations, and a calendar. Also contains the catalog for the 1856-1857 year, 1857-1858 year. The final section contains the July 1857 speech from the black volume. 1
