Carroll University's new Academic Certificate in Orthopedic Technology prepares athletic trainers with the knowledge and skills to effectively practice with physicians in clinical, hospital and surgical settings.

The program provides expertise in musculoskeletal examination, surgical education, traction techniques, casting and splinting as well as the development of administrative and clinical skills.

There is a need in healthcare industry for athletic trainers with this these skills to work closely with physicians. People with this education are able to guide patients through the appointment, treatment and rehabilitation process, assisting to meet all clinical needs. This improves physician productivity and patient outcomes, and achieves more effective communication with patients.
