Master of Education - Traditional Program

The Carroll University graduate program in Education is designed to serve students seeking a Master of Education (M.Ed.) Degree, who are working in a variety of educational contexts. The degree is awarded upon completion of 33 credits in one of three designated emphases, which includes the research core. Program entry at the beginning of each academic term, a personalized learning environment, and courses scheduled at convenient times for working adults affords each student the opportunity for a personalized approach to meet his or her academic goals. Students can also take classes for individual professional development and/or to extend their professional certification.

Three content emphases are available: curriculum and instruction, adult and continuing education and health education. The content of the emphases is chosen to complement the research core, reflect the current expertise of Carroll University faculty and to meet the modern professional needs and interests of educators. Carroll also offers two unique weekend programs: Master of Education- School Leadership and Reading Teacher Program.

Through completion of course work in the graduate program, currently licensed teachers can extend their licensure to include the Reading Teacher license (316), Adaptive Education (859), Alternative Learning Environments Certification (952), and Health Education (910).
