Students applying for the M.Ed. must declare an emphasis of study. There are currently three areas: curriculum and instruction, adult and continuing education and health education. The content of the emphases is chosen to complement the research core, to reflect the current expertise of Carroll faculty, and to meet the modern professional needs and interests of educators. Carroll also offers a unique weekend program; the Master of Education-Learning and Teaching Community Program.
Students do not gain an initial license to teach in a K-12 setting through the Master of Education degree program. However, Carroll does offer Education certification through our undergraduate program.
