Job Title – Student Archive Worker

Purpose of Job

  • To continually update and add materials to the digital University Archives collection. 
  • To continually update the Finding Aids to the University Archives so that we can locate materials in the Archives.
  • To properly process and preserve new Archival acquisitions for future generations. 
  • To actively collect and preserve the history of Carroll University for future generations. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Digitize materials using a scanner such as photographs, and newspaper clippings
  • Upload digitized materials to ContentDM software
  • Update Finding Aids for the University Archives
  • Participate in processing of new archival acquisitions such as programs, announcements, building plans, three dimensional objects such as pins, cups, etc. and clothing for archival storage 
  • Participate in creating displays in the Library display case in the Lobby
  • Saving and/or printing off news items concerning Carroll University from the University’s website or local news websites

Job Qualifications

  • Must be proficient with Word.
  • Must be willing to learn how to scan and digitize items
  • Must be willing to learn new software such as ContentDM
  • Must be computer literate and enjoy computer work.
  • Must be detail oriented and precise.
  • Must be able to perform routine tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
