WATER: the essential element of life on earth. This interdisciplinary-themed series explores our relationships with water on personal, regional and global levels. The Carroll community will examine how water informs cultural, environmental, spiritual, economic and political issues.

Note: Please check back frequently as new events are planned.

Spring 2012

  • April 11 “Our Environmental Destiny” lecture by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., president of the Waterkeeper Alliance, 6 p.m., Shattuck Music Center; free and open to the public. Sponsored by Carroll Student Affairs, Carroll Student Senate and the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha. Students who attend will earn a convocation point.
  • April 19-21 "Water Interpreted through Art" student and faculty exhibition, mixed media, Otteson Theatre lobby. Free and open to the public.
  • April 16-21 Festival of New Works with performances, art, music, speakers, games and refreshments to celebrate the Year of Water. Free and open to the public.
  • April 22 Chamber Orchestra concert including "Sea Songs" by Ralph Vaughan Williams and "Molly on the Shore" by Percy Grainger, 7:30 p.m., Shattuck Music Center. Free and open to the public.
  • April 28 Wind Symphony and Concert Choir performance of water songs, 8 p.m., Shattuck Music Center. Tickets are $8 adults, $5 students and seniors; call 262.524.7633.
  • May 28-June 7      Andy Stenz ’04 will walk across Wisconsin to raise money for clean water projects. To learn more, visit www.walkforcleanwater.org
