Radio Broadcasting
Instructor: Gregg Wandsneider
July 28 - August 1
Students entering grades 6 - 12
1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Cost: $100
Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to broadcast from a real live radio studio? You're on the air! During this week-long class, students in grades 6 through 12 will learn about radio as a creative and collaborative process. Utilizing the Carroll University studios of WCCX 104.5 FM in Waukesha, students will learn how to operate the radio board, interviewing techniques and engaging their minds in other creative activities related to radio. A highlight of the week is learning tricks of the trade from a current Milwaukee radio professional. Students will present their own radio show at the end of the week. This course if available for a minimum of 4 students and a maximum of 8.


Digital Photography 1

1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost: $100
It seems like everyone has a digital camera, but not everyone knows how to use it to create beautiful photographs! Learn basics on how to use your camera and photography skills to help capture the perfect moment.

Young Writers Inspirational Journey
Instructors: TBD
Taught at the All Writers' Workplace & Workshop - 234 Brook St., Unit 2
Students entering grades 4 - 6
July 7 - 11
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Early release on Friday)
Cost: $150
Bring your notebooks and an active mind! Explore short stories, personal essays and poetry and learn to tap into the creative experience through music, visual art and nature. Students will have the opportunity to visit with guest writers. The class will present a showcase reading of the week’s work to family and friends on the last day of class at noon.

What to bring: Notebook or laptop/device, pencil or pen, bag lunch with drink, comfortable clothes for walking.

The Carroll Academy has been providing youth and adults in Southeastern Wisconsin with non-credit enrichment opportunities for more than 30 years. Classes are held on the Carroll University campus, at satellite sites and in local schools.
