Pioneer Cheerleaders

What We Do

The Pioneer Cheerleaders support Carroll's Football team, Men's Basketball team, and Women's Basketball team at all home games and events. You can find us on the sidelines performing a combination of dances, chants, stunts, pyramids, and tumbling skills.

The cheer team will begin competing at local and state competitions in the 2022-2023 season.

Cheerleaders attend campus and community events such as the Bryon's Run/Walk/ Roll 5K to Cure Paralysis, and Spirit of Hope which is hosted by the Blaze Dance Team to raise funds for breast cancer research.

Financial Obligations

Team members are responsible for purchasing their own shoes at the beginning of the season. We have fundraising opportunities throughout the year to assist team members afford their apparel package which includes practice shirts, shorts, warmups, backpacks, and other miscellaneous items. The school provides uniforms and poms which must be returned at the end of the season.

Time Obligations

Practices are currently held Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Team members are expected to be at every practice, football game, and basketball game, including over academic breaks. We will also have weekend practices during the summer and attend cheer camp. There will be additional time commitments as we transition into becoming a competitive team.

Tryouts

Tryouts will take place near the end of Spring semester so that team members can practice during the summer and attend camp. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate precision in dances, cheers, jumps, and stunts. Tumbling is suggested but not required. For tryout material and questions, email head coach, Kristen Woodard kwoodard@carrollu.edu
