Davis is the co-founder and retired CEO of
Appriss, a Louisville-based technology company driven by its mission of creating “Knowledge for Good.” A lifelong entrepreneur and
two-time Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award recipient, Davis launched Appriss with his partner, Yung Nguyen, by inventing
VINE, the nation’s first automated victim notification service. Today, VINE operates nationwide, keeping millions of crime victims informed and safe.
Under Davis’s leadership, Appriss evolved into a global data and analytics business focused on
safety, risk, and fraud prevention across multiple industries. The company has tackled complex national issues such as law enforcement data integration, fraud detection, and the nation’s challenges with drug diversion and addiction.
Appriss is the only Kentucky company to be named among the state’s “50 fastest-growing private companies” for 20 consecutive years. In 2019, the company achieved a market valuation of nearly
$1.3 billion, earning recognition as one of Kentucky’s few “unicorn” startups — privately held companies valued at over $1 billion.
Davis’s presentation will offer an inside look at his entrepreneurial journey, lessons in innovation and leadership, and insights on how data-driven solutions can be harnessed for social good.
