Some students know they want a degree from Carroll but need to improve their English language proficiency first. Other students planned to study just English and then decided Carroll was the right place for them to earn a degree. Either way, transitioning to your undergraduate or graduate degree after completing the Intensive English Language program is a simple process.
Intensive English Language Program Alumni Grant
All students who complete the Carroll University Intensive English Language program (minimum enrollment of one semester) and matriculate into a Carroll University undergraduate degree program will receive a renewable $1,000 Intensive English Language Program Alumni Grant while they are enrolled in an undergraduate program at Carroll University. This grant does not require an additional application and is on top of the substantial International Student Scholarships offered to international undergraduates at Carroll University.
Applying for entry to a degree program - Before completing Carroll University’s Intensive English Language program
Students who wish to earn an undergraduate or graduate degree from Carroll University but do not have the required English proficiency should go through the standard admissions process for their degree program of interest.
Students are NOT required to complete an Intensive English Language program application in addition to the degree application.
Students who meet all admissions criteria with the exception of having sufficient English proficiency will be invited to join Carroll University’s Intensive English Language program.
The I-20 immigration document will indicate that the student has been admitted for English language instruction and intends to enroll in a degree program after completing the English program.

As you complete Carroll University’s Intensive English Language Program, you may decide that you wish to continue your studies and invest in a Carroll University undergraduate or graduate program. As year as once a student has started in the advanced level Intensive English Language courses, students should begin the standard admissions process for their degree program of interest.
A new I-20 immigration document will be issued for the degree program reflecting the appropriate change of level of study.
Completing Intensive English Language coursework and degree coursework simultaneously
Students at the Advanced level of the Intensive English Language program may be eligible to begin coursework in their degree program at the same time as completing the Intensive English Language program. In order to participate in this type of program which bridges the Intensive English Language coursework with the degree coursework, students must have already been conditionally accepted into their degree program of interest.
