Parent/Family/Guest Checklist

Hotel accommodations 

• If you are hoping to make restaurant reservations, we anticipate that Graduate Commencement will end at approximately 12:00 p.m. and anticipate that Undergraduate Commencement will end at approximately 5:30 p.m.

• If any of your guests need ADA accommodations for either ceremony a form link on the accommodations page will open Feb 1, 2027 and close April 26, 2027. Accommodation is on a first come, first served basis. After April 26, we will make an effort to accommodate your party if possible.
• We are pleased to offer AVA Pro closed captioning service for any guest needing this service.
• Real time closed captions are provided via a website in 24 languages.
• Upon arrival to the ceremony, simply ask an usher for the QR code to link you to the closed caption window on your smart device.

Commencement Parking

  • Note: guests that need a drop-off location can be dropped off at Voorhees Lot #6 off College Avenue.

Shuttle Service

• Shuttles are available from all parking lots.

Main Lawn - Outdoor Ceremony

• We make every effort to hold outdoor ceremonies.
• We appreciate your cooperation to allow our set up teams time to get everything ready for each ceremony. Thank you! Chairs are provided for guests and seating opens at:
  • 9:00 a..m. for Graduates
  • 2:00 p.m. for Undergraduates 

Inclement Weather Plan – Indoor Ceremony

• If strong storms, high winds or hail are predicted, we may move the ceremonies inside. This will be communicated by 7 a.m. on May 7 via the students' Pio Alert system, Carroll email system and on our website.
• Only if we hold an indoor ceremony will guests need wristbands for entry. Students are provided with wristbands based on the seating capacity of Van Male and the number of graduates participating in the ceremony.
• All ceremonies will be livestreamed. The links will be on the main commencement webpage the week before Commencement and will go live approximately 30 minutes before each ceremony.
