What made you choose this major?
I choose my major because I am a huge fan of numbers and I am really intrigued by their purpose and how they work. This drove me into the finance field because aside from the number crunching, I’m an excellent people person and I have a strong passion for always wanting to help others.
What opportunities have you had to work closely with a faculty member and what impact has that had on your education?
I feel the teachers are what really help drive students to their full potential. A big reason for this is the small class sizes because the teachers are able to become more personable with their students and are always more willing to help and be available when we need them the most.
What’s one of the most unique experiences you’ve had relating to the coursework for your major?
During my senior year, we completed a stock analysis project in a group. Our report was based on a local company, and we performed evaluations of the company and explained our evaluations in the report. After we completed the project, we had a sense of importance and pride in the work that we could accomplish, not only as a team but also as an individual.
How has Carroll enriched your growth as a person outside of the skills you’re learning in the classroom?
During my time here at Carroll, I changed my major during my sophomore year. After going through this switch, I was still able to graduate in four years. During these changes, I’ve been a part of the men’s swim team and was a two-year captain. I was also a part of our only business organization on campus, Enactus. So, to new incoming students, I’d strongly recommend taking full advantages of all the opportunities that Carroll offers which interest you, because they will make you a better person and have many other positive impacts on your life as well.
Why did you choose to attend Carroll University?
The main reason I chose to attend Carroll is the culture and atmosphere that you feel while being on campus. It gives you a keen sense of comfort, which I feel is most essential when looking for a prospective school to attend. Also, I’m happy of my choice to attend Carroll because I have met some of the best people in my life here and I would not want to trade that for anything.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Carroll University is a fantastic school for a multitude of reasons, ranging from culture to location. You get the best of both worlds with a strong community feel and the metropolitan feel from being located so close to Milwaukee. Waukesha is a lively town and there are plenty of opportunities of different things to do in the surrounding cities. Carroll University is a unique and special place that is easy for anybody to adapt to and find themselves calling it home.
