For the first time, First Federal Bank of Wisconsin has awarded five $1,000 scholarships to students of Carroll University.

This year, the five scholarship recipients are Benjamin Bazan of Hales Corners, Zenebech Bowerman of Milwaukee and Edgar Olivares of Milwaukee, all majoring in computer science; Milan Gruber of Menomonee Falls majoring in music and Justin Kontny of West Allis majoring in physical and health education.

“This is a great opportunity to help some outstanding local students prepare for the future and is a perfect way for us to support our local community by supporting Carroll University,” said Edward H. Schaefer, president and CEO of First Federal Bank.

Carroll University worked to identify students with a high academic promise to receive the scholarships. Recipients Benjamin Bazan and Milan Gruber met with Dr. Cindy Gnadinger and David Rosenwald ’82, senior vice president chief lending officer at First Federal Bank to receive their scholarship certificates this month (pictured).

Cindy Gnadinger, president of Carroll University said, “We appreciate the support and generosity of First Federal Bank. The scholarships they have provided are a great example of how partnerships can positively impact the lives of our students as they continue their education.”
